Forest cafeteria

The project focused on a modernisation of an existing cafeteria in an old holiday resort located in pine woods. The first visual memory of the site - a freestanding pavilion surrounded by a set of tall trees, where one horizontal form is juxtaposed with multiple vertical elements, served as the main inspirations for the design.The existing facade gained an offset layer of wooden pillars, which served as a support for the new roof. In that way new open and closed terraces were created in the spaces around the building.
